EFTA Conversation: Mobility and Migration: Rethinking the systemic approach in a globalised world

12 December 2024
ONLINE 18:00-20:00 CET

With Maria Borcsa and Ivy Daure

Chairperson: Valeria Pomini

Never before in the history of modern humanity we experienced mobility on such a scale; this puts into question several concepts linked to sedentariness, hitherto considered to be ‘the norm’. Contact with others calls into question the self-evident aspects of culture, language, communication and ideology.

Moreover, the nature, methods and effects of migrating have changed fundamentally in the age of information and communication technologies. The ease with which we can communicate across distances and borders is changing the way we experience ‘exile’.

In this conversation, Maria Borcsa and Ivy Daure will present their understanding of mobility and migration, providing insights that will enrich reflection as well as systemic practice.
