CONNECTING FAMILY THERAPISTS AND TRAINERS

With Metaloog, a systemic knowledge network from Belgium and the Netherlands, we took part in Reclaiming Our Futures, an artistic–scientific festival organised by Radboud University, where scientists, artists and activists imagined the worlds we want to live in. Its motto, « The future is rhizomatic, » refers to roots like ginger that grow horizontally, through connection rather than hierarchy. For systemic practitioners, a familiar image.
We improvised through soundpainting and jazz, gave form to anger in a rage workshop, and facilitated a Warm Data Lab on « What is home in a changing world? », sharing how Deleuze drew on Bateson for the concept of the rhizome.
A recurring thread was a critical look at AI: its consumption and pollution of drinking water, its capacity to manipulate knowledge, and the way it reinforces institutional racism through feedback loops. Because AI predicts what is most likely based on existing data, it tends to confirm what already is. The AI revolution is not inevitable; it calls for making room for what challenges power and what risks being marginalised.

On 29 May 2026, Edgar Morin passed away in Paris at an advanced age, just short of his 105th birthday. He was born Edgar Nahoum on 8 July 1921 in Paris, the son of secular Jewish immigrants from Thessaloniki, and himself lived a complex biography: a fighter in the Résistance, a member of the Communist Party until 1951, then expelled from the party and a lifelong dissident vis-à-vis any orthodoxy. At the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), which he joined in 1950 and where he became research director, he worked at the intersection of sociology, philosophy, ethnography and biology. He received honorary doctorates from 38 universities worldwide.

L’objectif de l’EFTA est d’obtenir la reconnaissance de la thérapie familiale et systémique en tant que forme distincte et scientifiquement fondée de pratique thérapeutique, et de garantir des normes rigoureuses en matière de formation et de pratique professionnelle dans toute l’Europe.
À cette fin, l’EFTA a achevé le processus de mise à jour périodique de ses normes de formation, conformément à l’évolution des différents cadres réglementaires et professionnels européens.
Les nouvelles normes de formation s’intitulent « Normes minimales de formation de l’EFTA 2025 ».
Vous trouverez ICI les normes de formation pour les thérapeutes familiaux et systémiques au niveau européen, ainsi que les niveaux de formation requis pour l’adhésion à la Chambre des instituts de formation de l’EFTA (TIC) et à la Chambre des membres individuels de l’EFTA (CIM).
Chers amis, le congrès de Lyon vient de s’achever et ce fut un événement incroyable : beaucoup de monde (1660 personnes), de nombreuses rencontres et présentations formelles (505), une atmosphère empreinte de curiosité, d’énergie, de responsabilité et de conscience. Une vivacité énergique, le plaisir de se rencontrer et beaucoup d’émotions pendant les nombreuses pauses. J’aimerais beaucoup retrouver toutes ces ambiances et ces émotions au cours des trois prochaines années de notre travail ensemble !
Je suis personnellement très satisfaite des trois dernières années, je souhaite seulement une plus grande participation de chacun d’entre vous. J’aimerais que vous partagiez avec nous vos besoins et vos aspirations professionnelles. Comment pouvons-nous vous aider à les réaliser ? Qui pourrions-nous inviter qui, selon vous, serait un enrichissement pour vous et pour nous tous ? Quel thème vous intéresse ?
Le congrès a commencé et s’est terminé par deux vidéos sur ce qui se passe dans le monde. Cela ne signifie pas que je souhaite « politiser » l’EFTA, mais que nous devons être conscients de ce qui se passe, car chaque client apporte le monde avec lui, même s’il n’en parle pas.

A researcher, an irreverent thinker, the father of complexity. I’ve met him many times – in Roma, Milano, Naples and abroad – and studied his books whenever I could.
