Ivy Daure: I met Camillo Loriedo a few years ago when I was writing the book ‘Il genogramma nelle pratica sistemica contemporanea: sviluppi e prospettive’, since he is the director of the collection and wrote a chapter in the book. Our exchanges have always been very warm and cordial. I met him personally in Rome when we were preparing to publish the book, and then in Ljubljana at the EFTA congress. And again in Assisi at the congress of the Accademia di Psicoterapia di Roma. Each time, the man struck me as refined, intelligent, discreet, and serious, with a good dose of humor.
In 2023, he invited me to speak at the annual congress of the IIPR Instituto Italiano di Psicoterapia Relazionale in a Relais Nature, Casa Mogol in Avigliano Umbro (TR). The owner is none other than one of the greatest songwriters in Italy and probably in he world: Mogol.
So the atmosphere was warm and musical, and on the first day I took part in the presentations in the morning, gave my talk in the afternoon and we all had dinner together, almost 200 students from the Institute.
After dinner, there was a prize-giving ceremony for the best dissertations of the year, and then the atmosphere started to warm up again between the groups from different towns, always a super-friendly atmosphere of laughter, applause and shouts of support for colleagues.
A stage was set up with a band ready to play, and then Camillo picked up his guitar, played and sang five songs by Mogol, obviously carefully chosen songs that marked the sentimental lives of Italians in the 70s and 80s.
A true rocker, his audience was in ecstasy, all singing in chorus and dancing, a true moment of communion between the artist and his audience. THE ROCK STAR was born before my very eyes. The next day, we all sang along with the students, teachers and Mogol himself, a magnificent song called ‘Un’avventura’ I had an excellent time sharing ideas and conviviality, and the lyrics still ring in my head : ‘Non sarà / Un’avventura / Non può essere soltanto una primavera / Questo amore / Non è una stella / Che al mattino se ne va/ Oh no no no no no no”. (It won’t be / An adventure / It can’t be just a spring / This love / Is not a star / That goes away in the morning / Oh no no no no no no). So if you need a bit of rock ‘n ‘roll at the next EFTA Congress, you know who to turn to.
