Assisi Manifesto 2023
Dear members,
We decided to upload the “Assisi Manifesto” to let you know what is the latest choral effort of clinicians around the world reflecting on our specific work as systemic practitioners. As I think you know by now I am not keen on bringing everything back to families: I think that systemic thinking obliges us to operate within a complex frame and this is the added value to our being systemic, to our capacity to contextualize and historicize every intervention. Read it and draw your own conclusions. I would have ended it with these words: “Considering the current political and religious divisions in our world as evidenced by growing populist political movements, devastating wars in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and elsewhere, as well as waves of migrants and refugees, now more than ever, it is time to recognize and strengthen systems as the foundation of society and thus an important vehicle for healing.”
